Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, student-centered High School Math Teacher who is passionate about developing strong mathematical thinkers and problem-solvers. This educator will create a rigorous, engaging classroom environment where scholars build confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking skills in mathematics.

 

The ideal candidate is not just delivering instruction—they are cultivating agency, fostering growth mindset, and building meaningful relationships that drive achievement.


Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Planning

  • Deliver high-quality, standards-aligned math instruction (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, or higher-level courses as assigned)
  • Design lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application
  • Use data to inform instruction and differentiate for diverse learners
  • Integrate literacy strategies to support comprehension in mathematical contexts

Scholar Engagement & Culture

  • Build a classroom culture rooted in high expectations, respect, and collaboration
  • Foster a growth mindset and encourage academic risk-taking
  • Develop strong relationships with scholars to support both academic and social-emotional growth

Assessment & Data Use

  • Regularly assess scholar progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Analyze student data to drive interventions and enrichment opportunities
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance

Collaboration & Professional Growth

  • Collaborate with colleagues, instructional leaders, and support staff to improve outcomes
  • Participate in professional development aligned to ARLCS priorities
  • Contribute to a positive, solution-oriented campus culture

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
  • Valid Arkansas teaching license or eligibility for licensure (TLP, ALP, or alternative pathway)
  • Strong content knowledge in high school mathematics

Preferred

  • Experience teaching at the high school level
  • Demonstrated success in improving student achievement
  • Familiarity with data-driven instruction and differentiated learning

  • Campus Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Student Day: 8:00 AM – 3:25 PM
